What is DHS?
DHS stands for Dynamic Hit Scoring which is an artificial-intelligence pattern-recognition software that gives users the probability of an uploaded song becoming a hit.
How does it work?
The program takes six years’ worth of Billboard Hot 100 singles and compares the uploaded song to those hits based on many factors. As a result, it can predict the probability of it becoming a hit and what previous hits it closely resembles.
Will it tell me if my music is good?
No. It will tell you how likely it is to become a hit based on historical Billboard Hot 100 data, and not necessarily how good your song it is.
How can a program have musical taste?
The program makes its judgment based on the songs people have liked in the recent past.
How can having my songs analyzed help me as a musician?
There are several advantages:
First, having your songs analyzed by DHS helps to give you a feel of the potential your song has to become a chart-topping hit.
Second, you can use DHS as a learning tool to see what works and what doesn’t in an effort to improve your song.
Third, for comparison purposes you can find out which of your songs stand the greater chance at becoming hits using DHS.
Lastly, getting a higher score can lead to a higher site ranking which gives you a better chance at earning a spot in the Hitlab Showcase and getting a record deal with Akon!
How much does it cost?
$29.99 per analysis or if you become a Premium HITLAB Member for $19.99/month you get 1 free DHS every month and 30% off on all other DHS analysis.
What exactly do I get with a DHS analysis?
You get a score from 1-100% which indicates the potential your song has to become a hit, based on the success similar songs have had on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The higher the score, the more potential your song has. You also get the most likely peak position for your song on the Billboard Hot 100, the number of weeks it has the potential to stay there, and the hits of the past six years it most closely resembles. If your songs score high enough, you can also get the chance to perform live in front of Akon and signed to one of his labels (Konlive or Konvict).
If my song is really original, it stands to reason that it will get a low ranking, even though it may have a lot of potential to become a hit. What is the benefit of DHS technology in this case?
If your song is original to that extent, even top music experts may not see the potential it has. DHS technology offers that expert opinion regarding your song’s chances at becoming a hit for only $30. If you are looking for a quick and easy way to gauge your song’s potential for success, there is no better way than to analyze your song using DHS. In the end, though, as with all artists, you have to follow your heart if you think you have a hit on your hands. The Hitlab scoring system does reward artists whose songs get a lot of votes from the site’s other users. If your song gets a low DHS score, but is a success on the site, you will still get a chance at signing a record deal with Akon.
